Upon arriving, Milford Police located the 28yo female victim and the 50yo female victim were lying outside the apartment near the stairwell and the male suspect gone. Both female victims had suffered serious injuries as a result of the physical domestic. Detectives discovered that the 28yo female victim and the male suspect, Calvin L. King, 37yo of Milford, had gotten into a verbal dispute while inside one of the rooms in an apartment. During the dispute King threatened to kill the 28yo female victim. As the verbal dispute escalated, King displayed a knife and began stabbing the 28yo female victim. After suffering multiple stab wounds to the wrists, head and a broken wrist the female 28yo female victim was able to break free and flee from the room. While fleeing, King stabbed the 28yo female victim in the back. The 28yo female victim was able to make it to another room within the apartment and lock herself inside. During this time, the 50yo female victim awoke and tried to stop King from breaking into the room where the 28yo female victim was at. King then stabbed the 50yo female victim in the chest. The 50yo female victim then attempted to flee the apartment along with a 3yo child and a 7yo child. As the 50yo female victim got outside the apartment near the concreted stairwell, King stabbed the 50yo female victim in the back while she was holding the 3yo child in her arms. King then pushed the 50yo female victim down the stairwell while she was holding the 3yo child. The 50yo female victim and the child then fell down approx. 16 concrete steps. The 50yo female victim suffered stab wounds to the chest, back and multiple injuries to her spinal cord. The 50yo female victim was also transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition. Investigation revealed that after the incident, prior to police arrival, King fled from the scene in a 1996 Lexus 300, white in color. Milford Police then alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies about the incident. At approximately 0321 am, Delaware State Police (Troop 9) observed the 1996 Lexus 300 in the area of Commerce St in Cheswold. Two troopers in fully marked DSP patrol vehicles followed the suspect vehicle on southbound US Rt. 13 until it reached the intersection of Scarborough Road in Dover. Troopers confirmed that it was in fact the suspect vehicle and then activated their emergency lights on their patrol vehicles and performed the traffic stop. As Troopers exited their vehicles, and began to approach vehicle. King then fled from the troopers in his vehicle, traveling eastbound on Scarborough Road and then southbound on SR 1. King then proceeded through Dover toll plaza before making a u-turn and then proceeded northbound in an erratic manner as troopers attempted to stop the vehicle while in fully marked patrol vehicles with all emergency lights & sirens activated. Upon reaching SR 1 at the Appoquinimink Creek, just south of Odessa, King lost control of his vehicle, causing it to strike a concrete barrier and become disabled. King then exited the vehicle and proceeded to jump over the cement median and into the Appoquinimink Creek. Troopers were able to observe King in the water for a short period of time before losing sight of him. A search of the water from SR 1 east to the Delaware River was conducted with the assistance of DNREC, however, the search was unsuccessful in locating King. A search of the surrounding area was also conducted, but again was unsuccessful.
