The Milford Police Department is now accepting applications for the annual Citizen’s Police Academy.

The academy will be held Wednesday evenings from February 18, 2015 thru April 15, 2015. The topics of instruction include criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, DUI investigations, arrest procedures, taser operation, community policing, school resource operations and general police procedures. The academy will also have a K-9 demonstration, a presentation from the tactical team (S.O.G) and more. The applicants will have the opportunity to participate in the police ride along program, participate at the live firearms range and take part in the firearms simulator.
The closing date for applications is February 10, 2015 and applicants must pass background check to be accepted into the program. Applications are available at the Milford Police Department or on the webpage, milfordpolicede.org or at the City of Milford website, www.cityofmilford.com. Applications can be returned to the Milford Police Department, via fax, US mail or hand delivered. Preference will be given to Milford area residents first.
