Two men charged with Endangering Children in Barricaded incident

On 2/26/15 the Milford Police responded to a residence located at Mispillion Apartments after receiving a report of a domestic dispute with subjects physically fighting inside the residence. Milford Police also received information that small children were inside of the residence while the fighting was taking place and also that a firearm may be present at the residence. Upon arriving, Milford Police observed the residence door partially opened and heard individuals yelling from inside. Upon Milford Police approaching the door, individuals inside of the residence shut and locked the door refusing to open the door for police. The Milford Police established a perimeter outside of the residence and continued to establish contact with individuals inside. The individuals continued refusing to obey police commands but as detectives obtained search warrants to enter the residence, an individual inside the residence opened the door for police. Investigation revealed that Earl H. Welty 4th, 32yo of Frederica and Jason M. Rodriguez, 27yo of Houston were involved in the verbal and physical altercation and had refused to comply with police orders. An 8yo juvenile and a 6yo juvenile were also present in the residence during the altercation. Both Rodriguez and Welty were charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Hindering Prosecution. Both also had active capiases out of numerous courts. Both were arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $2,000.00 secured bond.
