Milford woman arrested after attempting to flee from 2nd story window

On 4/21/15 the Milford Police responded to Silver Lake Apartment Complex after receiving a report of a wanted person in front of one of the apartment buildings. Upon arriving, Milford Police attempted to make contact with Rykia S. Weston, 32yo of Milford. Weston fled into an apartment located on the 2nd floor of the building. Weston then jumped out of a 2nd story window in the rear of the building in an attempt to flee from officers. While Milford Police attempted to take Weston into custody she continued to physically struggle to prevent officers from subduing her. Weston then spit on one of the officers. Officers were able to take Weston into custody after a brief struggle. Weston was charged with Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief Under $1000 and Disorderly Conduct. Weston was also charged on an active warrant obtained by the Milford Police stemming from an incident that occurred on 10/25/2014. For that incident Weston was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Offensive Touching stemming from a physical altercation that occurred at Uptown Liquor Store. Investigation for this incident revealed that Weston got into a verbal dispute with the 28yo female victim while inside the liquor store. During the dispute, Weston struck the female victim and a fight ensued. Weston fled from the liquor store prior to police arrival. Weston was arraigned on both incidents and was also wanted on an active capias out of Kent County Superior Court. Weston was committed to WCI in default of $12,000.00 secured bond.
