Milford man charged with Strangulation in Domestic Dispute

On 1/14/16 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 39yo Milford man stemming from a domestic assault that occurred at a residence located in the 2900 block of Heather Dr. Duane L. Miller was charged with Strangulation, Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications, Offensive Touching and Criminal Mischief. Investigation revealed that the Miller and the 41yo female victim had been involved in a verbal dispute. During the dispute, Miller grabbed the female victim. Miller then placed his hands around the throat of the female victim and began to strangle her. The female was initially able to break free from Miller and attempted to flee into a bedroom and close the door. Miller chased the female victim and kicked in the bedroom door. As the female victim was contacting the Police on the phone, while inside the bedroom, Miller took the phone from the female victim and threw it outside of the residence. Miller then fled prior to police arrival. Miller later responded into the Milford Police Department where he was later charged. The female victim was transported to Milford Bayhealth where she was treated for minor injury to her neck and then later released. Miller was arraigned and released on $3,500.00 unsecured bond.
