On 05.19.2016 Mr. Wescott turned himself into the Milford Police Criminal Division at approximately 1100 hours. He has been formally charged with Attempted Murder 1st degree, Robbery 1st degree, 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited. Assault 2nd degree, Reckless Endangering 1st degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $319,000.00. Mr. Wescott is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a Preliminary Hearing later this month.

On 05.13.2016 Detectives from the Milford Police Department’s Criminal Division obtained an arrest warrant for Qualeel Wescott, 21 of Ellendale, as part of an investigation into a shooting at Brightway Commons Apartment Complex on 05.11.2016. Milford Police also identified the second victim that was sought in this case, a 25 year old male, who sustained a minor injury from this incident. The initial victim remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Warrants on are file for Mr. Wescott for Attempted Murder 1st degree and associated charges with this incident.
