Traffic Stop Leads To Milford Man’s Arrest

On 06/03/2017, Milford Police Department Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a Maroon Chevrolet Impala on S Walnut St in the area of Jefferson Ave. for an alleged traffic violation. It was learned that the driver of the vehicle did not have a license and upon inquiry of the passenger, Charles Willey, 26 of Milford, DE, it was learned that he had a capias for his arrest out of Kent County Court of Common Pleas.  As Willey was being taken into custody on the capias, he allegedly began to resist arrest.  Once he was detained and a search of his person was conducted, it was learned that Willey was allegedly in possession of suspected crack cocaine and related drug paraphernalia.  Willey was transported to Milford PD and the driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic summons.

Willey was charged with Possess, Consume A Controlled or Counterfeit Substance Except Human Growth Hormone Without A Prescription With An Aggravating Factor, Resisting Arrest, and 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Non-Marijuana Related. He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 3.  He was released on $1500 unsecured bail on the new charges and was able to post his bond of $70.00 on the capias.  He was given future court appearances in both Kent County and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
