Violation Of Court Order Leads To Arrest Of Seaford Man

On 06.06.2017 at approximately 12:48 am officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to an apartment in the Brightway Commons apartment complex to a report of a violation of a court order that was issued on 05.27.2017.  Upon arrival officers located Jamaal Artis, 35 of Seaford, hiding in a closet in the apartment to avoid be located by the officers.  Mr. Artis was taken into custody without incident.  The court order prohibited Mr. Artis from have contact with a resident in the apartment.  Mr. Artis was charged with Resisting Arrest and  Noncompliance With Conditions of Recognizance Bond.  Mr. Artis was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $3000.00 unsecured.  Mr. Artis is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on June 16th for a Preliminary Hearing.
