Milford Woman Charged Following Altercation In Residence On Northwest Front Street

On 07.11.2017 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence in the unit block of Northwest Front Street to a report of a physical altercation.  Investigation revealed Veronica L. Hurtt, 29 of Milford, reportedly arrived in the home in the early morning hours and became confrontational with the victim.  Ms. Hurtt allegedly chested bumped the victim and made a statement about causing harm to the victim.  The investigation also revealed Ms. Hurtt was in possession of a knife, drug paraphernalia, and there was an active not contact order between her and the victim that was issued in June 2017.  Ms. Hurtt was taken into custody at the scene without incident.  Ms. Hurtt has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Terroristic Threatening, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Offensive Touching, Criminal Mischief, and Breach of Release.  Ms. Hurtt was initially deemed not fit for presentment due it being believed she was under the influence, therefore she was initially committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle, Delaware.  Ms. Hurtt was eventually presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $2500.00 unsecured and she was released.  Ms. Hurtt is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing on 07.21.2017 at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
