Fraud Investigation Leads To The Arrest Of A Dover Woman

On July 13, 2017, Milford Police responded to a business in the 600 block of N. Dupont BLVD in regards to a fraud complaint.

The victim alleged that Shakesha L. Sullivan 36, of Dover, received money after cashing a check at their establishment on May 12, 2017. The victim reported to Officers that within a few days the check Ms. Sullivan cashed was returned by their bank advising them that it was an altered and fictitious check. The business made several attempts to contact Ms. Sullivan in order to correct the issue, but Ms. Sullivan ignored their requests.

A warrant was issued for Shakesha Sullivan after Officers concluded their investigation.

On August 11, 2017 Shakesha Sullivan turned herself in at The Milford Police Department without incident. She was charged with Forgery 3rd Degree and Theft By False Pretense. She was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and given a $100.00 secured bail.  She was subsequently released after posting bond. She was order to appear in Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date in reference to this case.
