On 10/03/2017, the Milford Police Department concluded a week long investigation into recent robberies that occurred within the city limits of Milford. The investigation revealed that a Richkard Lamartiniere, 23 of Milford, DE, and a 16-year old juvenile were reportedly involved in both incidents. Milford Police began the investigation on 09/27/2017 at 8:07 p.m. when police were notified of a strong armed robbery that had occurred behind the Calvary United Methodist Church located at 301 SE Front St and Memorial Park located at 1 Franklin St. The victim advised that he was approached by two black male subjects. He advised that one male grabbed him from behind while the other male attempted to take his cell phone from him. The victim advised that he was throw to the ground and punched and kicked by the suspects. The investigation revealed that the victim only suffered minor injuries and did not require any medical treatment for the injuries. The victim advised that he was able to keep hold of his cell phone and the suspects did not take anything from him, but did take his bicycle.
The second incident occurred on 09/28/2017 at 10:01 p.m., when Milford Police were contacted by the victim advising that they had their cell phone forcibly taken by 2 males that were later identified as the 16 year old juvenile and Lamartiniere in Bicentennial Park. Investigation revealed that the juvenile and Lamartiniere then followed the victim to his residence in the 100 Block of NW 2nd St. Once at the residence, the two suspects took numerous items from the victim’s room which were valued at less than $1500 and then fled from the residence on bicycles.
On 10/03/2017, the 16-year old juvenile was arrested and charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft Under $1500, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree reference to the second incident. Lamartiniere was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Theft Under $1500 reference to the first incident and Robbery 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft Under $1500, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree reference to the second incident. Charges are still pending for the juvenile in reference to the first incident. The juvenile was arraigned through Kent County Family Court and committed to the Stevenson House on $2000.00 secured bail with a no contact order with the victim. He was ordered to appear in Kent County Family Court at a later date reference to the second incident. Lamartiniere had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $27,000.00 secured bail. He was ordered to appear in both Kent and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
