**Update With Second Arrest & Fugitive Being Located** Surveillance Finds Burglar On West Clarke Avenue

On 12.08.2017 Milford Police charged a second man in connection with an ongoing investigation into a pair of burglaries that occurred on West Clarke Avenue.  On 12.08.2017 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence in the 600 block of Lakelawn Drive, after warrants were obtained Paul J. Marker, 49 of Milford.  Investigators obtained information that led to Mr. Marker reportedly being connected to the 12.06.2017 burglary investigation in which tools were taken.  A check of the residence located Mr. Marker hiding in the basement of the home.  Mr. Marker was taken into custody and he has been charged with Theft $1500 or Greater, Theft Under $1500, Criminal Mischief, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy Second Degree, and two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree.  Mr. Marker was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $6500.00 unsecured.  Mr. Marker is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 12.14.2017 for a Preliminary Hearing.  As the officers approached the residence prior to taking Mr. Marker into custody, a man was observed fleeing from a rear window of the residence.  Christopher J. Lagasse, 22 of Milford, was taken into custody and it was learned he was wanted for a September 2017 investigation into a theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in the 1000 block of North Walnut Street.  Mr. Lagasse was also found to be wanted by the Delaware State Police, Kent County Court of Common Pleas, Sussex County Family Court, Justice of the Peace Court #2, and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.  Mr. Lagasse was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle associated with the September investigation.  Mr. Lagasse was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $1000.00 secured.  Mr. Lagasse is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 12.22.2017 for a Preliminary Hearing.  Mr. Lagasse is not being associated with the West Clarke Burglary investigation.  Mr. Lagasse was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution.

On 12.07.2017 Milford Police arrested Todd L. Bunselmeyer, 51 of Milford, after detectives apprehended him while conducting surveillance on a property that was burglarized on 12.06.2017. On 12.06.2017 Milford Police investigated a burglary in which tools were taken from a residence on West Clarke Avenue. As part of that investigation detectives conducted surveillance of that area the following evening. At approximately 5:20 am on 12.07.2017, detectives observed suspicious activity at another residence in the area. Detectives were able to take Mr. Bunselmeyer into custody as he attempted to leave that residence. A subsequent search of Mr. Bunselmeyer’s residence located firearms in which he was prohibited from possessing. Warrants were obtained for Mr. Bunselmeyer and he has been charged with three counts of Burglary Third Degree, Theft $1500 or Greater, Theft Under $1500, Criminal Mischief, Hindering Prosecution, two counts of Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy Second Degree, three counts of Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited. Mr. Bunselmeyer was also found to be wanted by the Justice of the Peace Court #2. Mr. Bunselmeyer was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $19,600.00 secured. Mr. Bunselmeyer is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 12.14.2017 for a Preliminary Hearing. Mr. Bunselmeyer has been committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution.
