Cell Phone Violation Leads To Drug Charges For Milford Woman

On 01.08.2017 Milford Police arrested a 27 year old Milford woman after a vehicle stop for a cell phone violation led to drugs being seized.  On 01.08.2017 at approximately 12:10 pm, an officer on patrol on Northwest Front Street (SR 14) observed Kathryn E. Christensen, 27 of Milford, operating a vehicle while using a cell phone.  A subsequent stop of the vehicle a further investigation that included a search led to heroin, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia being seized.  The investigation also determined Ms. Christensen was operating the vehicle under the influence.   It was also learned Ms. Christensen was wanted  by the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.  Ms. Christensen has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drug, and No Person Shall Drive a Motor Vehicle While Using An Electronic Communication Device While Motor Vehicle Is In Motion.  Ms. Christensen was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $3501.00 secured.  Ms. Christensen has been committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution.
