Milford Police Charge Pair As Part Of Drug Investigation

On 01.25.2018 the Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit arrested two men after a brief investigation into the sale of Heroin. Detectives from the Drug and Criminal Investigations units contacted a vehicle in the 300 block of Southeast Front Street (SR 36) as part of the investigation. As detectives made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, one of the occupants fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit the occupant was taken into custody without incident. This occupant was identified as Joseph L. Whaley, 29 of Lincoln, DE. The other occupant of the vehicle was identified as Antonio Peay, 22 of Milford, DE, who was taken into custody without incident. A search of the occupants and vehicle yielded 120 bags of heroin, a small amount of United States Currency, and Drug Paraphernalia, which was seized as part of this investigation.

Whaley has been charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, and Possession With The Intent To Deliver A Controlled Substance. Whaley was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $6500.00 unsecured. Whaley is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 02.01.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing. Peay has been charged with Possession With The Intent To Deliver A Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Peay was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $5500.00 unsecured and he is also scheduled for a at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 02.01.2018.
