Milford Police Recognize Police and Civilian Personnel Of The Year

On 02.06.2018 Chief Kenneth Brown recognized the police and civilian of the year.  This years “Officer of the Year” is Detective Timothy Maloney.  Detective Maloney was recognized in July of 2017 as the “Officer of the Quarter”.  Detective Maloney was recognized for his dedication to his work with the Criminal Division, as well as serving as one of the department’s Public Information Officers. Detective Maloney also organized the department’s participation in this year’s annual Relay For Life. Detective Maloney has served with the Milford Police Department since July of 2013. Prior to that, he served with the Milton Police Department following his 2011 graduation from the Delaware State Police Academy.  Detective Maloney also served with the Milford Police Department’s Seasonal Program while in college.

The “Civilian Employee of the Year” is Valerie Springer.  Mrs. Springer is assigned to our Communications Division and has been since 1996.  Mrs. Springer is extremely dedicated and routinely goes above and beyond with her duties.  Mrs. Springer is also the EMS Supervisor for the Milton Fire Department and was recognized in April of 2017 as the “EMT of the Year” for her dedication to the EMS service.  Mrs. Springer has been affiliated with the Milton Fire Department since 1992.  Mrs. Springer also served in the United States Air Force.

In a statement today following the awarding of these honors Chief Kenneth Brown stated, “Both are very deserving of this recognition! I am extremely proud of them and the work they do for the citizens of Milford.”
