**Update With One Arrest** Milford Police Investigating Large Fight That Stops Smyrna-Cape Boys Basketball Game

On 02.23.2018 the Milford Police Department is continuing to investigate a fight that occurred during the 4th quarter of the Smyrna High School and Cape Henlopen High School Henlopen Conference boys basketball game.  The fight resulted in the game being cancelled.  The investigation resulted in three arrest warrants being obtained.  The first of three individuals turned himself in immediately after he learned he was being sought in connection with this matter.  Randy Rickards, 18 of Milton, has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault 3rd Degree.  Mr. Rickards was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $1000.00 unsecured.  Mr. Rickards is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.  Two other individuals are also being sought and arraignments are being made for them to turn themselves into police.  Further information will be released about the two at a later time.  This investigation is ongoing and both participating schools have been assisting.  Officers from the Delaware State Police and Harrington Police also responded to the fight and provided assistance to Milford Officers assigned to the event and other officers who responded from the Patrol Division.

The Milford Police Department is currently investigating a large fight that occurred at the Milford Central Academy gym during a Henlopen Conference boys basketball game between Smyrna High School and Cape Henlopen High School.  The investigation is ongoing and updates will continue as they become available.  This altercation, which occurred in the fourth quarter, led to the cancellation of the remainder of the game.
