Lincoln Man Charged In Connection With April Shoplifting Investigation

On 05.15.2018 Milford Police arrested a Lincoln man during a traffic stop after it was learned he was wanted following an April investigation into a shoplifting at Walmart (900 block North DuPont Boulevard, US Rt 113).  During the April investigation a warrant was obtained for David J. Lewis, 36 of Lincoln.  The investigation learned that Mr. Lewis participated in an incident in which an item was reportedly removed from Walmart on 04.08.2018 without being paid for.  Approximate value of the removed item was $948.00.  Mr. Lewis also allegedly had children in his vehicle as he fled the property.  Another unknown individual was also reportedly was involved, but has yet to be identified.  As Mr. Lewis was taken into custody during the 05.15.2018 traffic stop on Northwest Front Street, a subsequent search located crack cocaine and marijuana.  Mr. Lewis has been charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Shoplifting Under $1500.00, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Conspiracy 3rd Degree.  Mr. Lewis was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $2000.00 for the 04.08.2018 incident and $501.00 unsecured for the drug charges on 05.15.2018.  Mr. Lewis is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas in August for an arraignment.
