Assault Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Pair

Location of Incident: Parking Lot In The Unit Block Of North Walnut Street

On 05.05.2018 Milford Police arrested Anthony Penawell, 24, and Tiffany A. Wolfe, 32, both of Milford as part of an assault investigation.  Investigation revealed Mr. Penawell allegedly assaulted the victim in a parking lot on North Walnut Street in the downtown area at approximately 8:43 am.  Following the assault the victim responded to the Milford Police Department to report the incident and eventually was transported by Carlisle Fire Company staff to Bayhealth in Milford to be treated for injuries.  Investigation also revealed a young child witnessed the alleged assault.  As a result of this investigation a warrant was obtained for Mr. Penawell.  Later in the day on 05.05.2018 Mr. Penawell was contacted by police, along with Ms. Wolfe, at the Milford Police Department.  Mr. Penawell was taken into custody without incident.  Ms. Wolfe reportedly provided a false statement to the investigating officer about the matter, as did Mr. Penawell.  Ms. Wolfe was also taken into custody and a warrant was obtained for her.  Mr. Penawell has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Providing a False Statement to Law Enforcement.  Ms. Wolfe has been charged with Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Providing a False Statement to Law Enforcement.  Both were presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $15,000.00 secured for Mr. Penawell and $4000.00 unsecured for Ms. Wolfe.  Mr. Penawell was scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 05.11.2018 and Ms. Wolfe is scheduled to appear for her Preliminary Hearing on 06.01.2018.
