Frederica Man Charged With Felony DUI

On 07.26.2018 an investigation into an impaired driving resulted in a Frederica man being charged.  On 07.26.2018 at approximately 9:57 pm, an officer on patrol in the area of Airport Road and Bowman Road, observed a vehicle travelling partially in the travel lane of oncoming traffic.  A subsequent stop of the vehicle and further investigation led to Loren T. Johnson, 62 of Frederica being taken into custody for suspicion of operating the vehicle while impaired.  Further investigation determined Mr. Johnson had three prior convictions for driving under the influence.  As a result of this investigation a warrant was obtained.  Mr. Johnson has been charged with 4th Offense Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, Drive in Proper Lane and Direction, and Failure to Have License in Possession.  Mr. Johnson was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $8600.00 unsecured.  Mr. Johnson is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 08.03.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing.
