Motor Vehicle Collision Leads To Multiple Charges For Ellendale Man

On 09.04.2018 Milford Police arrested an Ellendale man after an investigation into a motor vehicle collision.  Officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to South Walnut Street to a single vehicle collision at approximately 1:20 pm.  Investigation revealed a 2003 Chrysler struck a pole and first contact with the operator led officers to believe he showed signs of an overdose.  The operator was transported to Bayhealth, where staff there located 21 bags heroin in his possession.   Juan J. Shirey, 24 of Ellendale, was taken into custody after being treated and he has been charged with Possession With The Intent To Deliver A Controlled Substance, Driving While Suspended, Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drug, Failure To Have Required Insurance, and Inattentive Driving.  Mr. Shirey was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $3550.00 unsecured.  Mr. Shirey is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 09.13.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing.
