**Update With Arrest** MPD Looking For Public Assistance With Motor Vehicle Collision Investigation

On 10.16.2018 Milford Police arrested Mary N. Smith, 25 of Milford, after a warrant was obtained as part of this investigation.  Ms. Smith was identified as the operator of the vehicle and she turned herself into police.  Ms. Smith has been charged with Leaving the Scene of a Collision Resulting in Injury, Failure to Report a Collision Resulting in Injury, and Pedestrians Have Right of Way in Crosswalks.  Ms. Smith was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $1600.00 unsecured.  Ms. Smith is scheduled for an arraignment at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 01.30.2019.

On 10.15.2018 at approximately 6:30 pm, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 200 block of Northeast Front Street (SR 14) to a report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed a passenger car struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on North Washington Street. The pedestrian was treated at the scene by staff from the Carlisle Fire Company and transported to Bayhealth in Milford with serious but non life threatening injuries. The operator is described as a female, 18-25 years of age. The suspect vehicle is described as dark colored Ford Taurus or Nissan Sentra.
