Impaired Driving Leads To Arrest Of Milford Man

On 10.16.2018 Milford Police arrested a Milford man following an investigation into an impaired driving on Silicato Parkway.  On 10.16.2018 at approximately 8:31 pm, a concerned citizen reported a Chevrolet Tahoe being operated in an aggressive manner.  Further investigation led the investigating officer locating and contacting that vehicle in a parking lot nearby.  During contact with the operator, who appeared impaired, drug paraphernalia was observed by the officer and it was also learned he had previous convictions for Driving Under the Influence.  The investigation led the officer to believe heroin led to the operators impairment.  Patrick Carey, 36 of Milford, was taken into custody without incident.  Mr. Carey has been charged with 4th Offense Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Any Drug, two counts Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While Suspended or Revoked.  Mr. Carey was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $5751.00 secured.  Mr. Carey was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution.  Mr. Carey is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 10.26.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing.
