On 1/07/2019 at approximately 1318 hours, the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was given a be on the lookout (BOLO) for a gray Toyota vehicle all over the roadway going into the median traveling northbound on Rt. 113 approaching Milford City Limits. Officers located the Bolo vehicle in the area of Rt. 113 (N DuPont Blvd) and Rt. 14 (NW Front St).  Officers began following the vehicle and observed the vehicle, a 1997 Tan Toyota 4 Runner, swerving from side to side over the yellow and white lines in the roadway while traveling in the left travel lane of N DuPont Blvd.  Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on N DuPont Blvd south of North St. Ext. Milford, Kent County, DE and made contact with the operator, who was identified as Oscar Alvarez-Martinez, 35 of Milford, DE.  When officers made contact with Alvarez-Martinez, they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Alvarez-Martinez’s breath.  Officers began a DUI investigation and administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests to Alvarez-Martinez.  The investigation revealed that Alvarez-Martinez was allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  He was taken back to Milford PD for processing.  Officers also learned that Alvarez-Martinez did not have a valid driver’s license nor a valid insurance card in his possession.

Alvarez-Martinez was charged with Driving A Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol, Failure To Have Insurance Identification In Possession, Driving Without A Valid License, and Failed to Remain Within A Single Lane. It was also determined by officers that Alvarez-Martinez had several aliases and several court capiases for his arrest.  Due to his intoxication, Alvarez-Martinez was committed to the Department of Correction by the Justice of the Peace Court until he was sober for presentment.  Alvarez-Martinez was released on 01/08/2019 on unsecured bail and was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
