Investigation Results In Drug and Weapons Charges

On May 14th the third of three men was charged to complete an investigation that led to a firearm and drugs being seized.  On May 5th, at approximately 1:53 pm, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division attempted to contact a group of individuals in the 400 block of North Street as it was known two of them were currently being sought as part of another investigation.  During contact with the group one of subjects fled, while two 16 year old juveniles were taken into custody.  While contacting the group the investigation resulted in Marijuana, Ecstasy, and a 9 mm handgun being seized.  The subject who fled was later identified as Antwain M. Holden, 20 of Lincoln.  On May 14th Mr. Holden was taken into custody by Delaware Probation and Parole and turned over to Milford Police.  Mr. Holden has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, 2 counts of Possession Firearm By Person Prohibited Who Also Possesses Controlled Substance, Possession With The Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance with an Aggravating Factor, and Possession of a Firearm or Deadly Weapon in a Safe School Zone.  Mr. Holden was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $67,000.00 secured.  Mr. Holden was committed to the custody of the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on at a later date.  One of the 16 year old juveniles from Milford was charged with Hindering Prosecution.  That juvenile was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $500 secured.  That juvenile was committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center and scheduled to appear in the Kent County Family Court at a later date.  The second 16 year old juvenile from Milford was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, 2 counts of Possession of  Firearm By Person Who Also Possesses Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with an Aggravating Factor, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Hindering Prosecution, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Possession of Marijuana Under 18, and Possession of a Firearm or Deadly Weapon in a Safe School Zone by a Juvenile.  This 16 year old juvenile was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $28,900.00 secured.  This juvenile was committed to the custody of the Stevenson House Detention Center and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Family Court on June 3rd for a Preliminary Hearing.
