On 06.18.2019 Milford Police arrested a Lincoln man after he led officers on a brief foot pursuit. On 06.18.2019 at approximately 8:26 pm, an officer on patrol observed Louis D. Welch, 22 of Lincoln, on foot in the 600 block of North DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113). A check through the Delaware Criminal Justice Information System, it was learned Mr. Welch was wanted multiple times for various cases out of the Justice of the Peace Court #6 and the Kent County Court of Common Pleas. As the officer attempted to contact Mr. Welch he fled on foot to the west side of North DuPont Boulevard. With the assistance of an off duty law enforcement officer Mr. Welch was taken into custody without further incident. While on the west side of North DuPont Boulevard it was learned that Mr. Welch entered a property in which he was banned from in 2018. Mr. Welch has been charged with Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. Mr. Welch was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and later committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution. Mr. Welch is scheduled for an arraignment in September at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on the newest charges.
