Wanted Lincoln Man Apprehended Following Brief Foot Pursuit

On 06.19.2019 Milford Police arrested a wanted Lincoln man after he fled from officers on foot during a traffic stop.  At approximately 2:57 pm an officer on patrol on South Washington Street observed a vehicle with a passenger in which the officer knew was currently being sought.  During the subsequent traffic stop, Alphonso A. Anderson, 37 of Lincoln, fled on foot from the officer.  After a brief foot pursuit Mr. Anderson was taken into custody without incident in the backyard of a residence in the 600 block of Southeast Front Street (SR 36).  Mr. Anderson was known by the officer to be wanted by the Milford Police for a previous incident in which he provided an officer with a false name to avoid apprehension, the Delaware State Police, Kent County Court of Common Pleas, Kent County Superior Court, and the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.  Mr. Anderson has been charged with Criminal Impersonation and Resisting Arrest.  Mr. Anderson was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $1000.00 unsecured on these charges.  Mr. Anderson was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a cash bails for the various court warrants.
