Investigation Into Shooting On South Walnut Street Leads To Arrest

On 10.13.2019 Milford Police arrested a Felton man following an investigation into a shooting on South Walnut Street.  On 10.11.2019 a warrant was obtained for Linwood G. Owens, 30 of Felton, as part of an investigation into a shooting that allegedly took place in the 1000 block of South Walnut Street at approximately 8:00 pm.  It’s been reported that Mr. Owens allegedly fired a shot towards a Chevrolet Traverse, striking a rear fender.  None of the occupants in the vehicle were harmed.  Mr. Owens was unable to be located that evening.  On 10.14.2019 Mr. Owens was located and taken into custody in Felton by Troopers from the Delaware State Police and later turned over to Milford Police.  Mr. Owens has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Reckless Endanger First Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited, and Criminal Mischief Over $1000.  Mr. Owens was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #3, where bail was set at $34,000.00 cash.  Mr. Owens has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.  Mr. Owens is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 10.17.2019 for a Preliminary Hearing.
