On 10.16.2019 members of the United States Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force and officers from Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit arrested four in a joint operation at Brightway Commons. On 10.16.2019 at approximately 2:06 pm, officers conducting surveillance located Robert D. Pierce, 29 of Greenwood, who was known to be wanted by multiple agencies. Officers attempted to contact Mr. Pierce who led officers on a brief foot pursuit, prior to being apprehended. A subsequent search located crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Pierce was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting arrest. Mr. Pierce was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $6500.00 secured for the new charges. Mr. Pierce is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 10.25.2019 for a Preliminary Hearing. Mr. Pierce was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. Several other were contacted during this operation along with Mr. Pierce. Alece A. Smith, 29 of Milford, was contacted and taken into custody after it was found she was wanted by the Kent County Court of Common Pleas. Ms. Smith was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released. Brian C. West, 45 of Milford, was taken into custody after it was found he was wanted by the Kent County Court of Common Pleas, Sussex County Family Court, and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. West was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. The fourth individual contacted was Sierra N. McCrea, 19 of Milford. Ms. McCrea was found to be in possession of marijuana. Ms. McCrea was charged with Possession of Marijuana and released. Ms. McCrea is scheduled to appear at the Justice of the Peace Court #6 in November for an arraignment.
