Milford Police Investigating Saturday Morning Shooting

On Saturday, January 30th at approximately 1:19 am, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a vacant commercial building in the 300 block of Milford-Harrington Highway (SR 14) to a report of a large fight. The crowd was dispersing as the initial officers arrived. Further investigation revealed just to the east of this incident, several individuals exchanged gun fire near the intersection of South DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113) and Milford-Harrington Highway (SR 14). This reportedly occurred shortly after individuals begin leaving the initial reported altercation. The individuals involved in the exchange of gun fire fled and were unable to be located. It’s unknown at this time if anyone was injured in that exchange. It was later learned a 2001 Honda Accord was damaged by gun shot rounds as it was on the roadway during the time of the shots being fired. Also, as vehicles were fleeing the function as officers were arriving, two collided leaving one vehicle with disabling damage. The second vehicle fled and has yet to be located.
