Milford Police Investigate Morning School Bus Crash

On 10/07/2021 at approximately 7:30 am officers from the Milford Police Department responded to the intersection of South Rehoboth Boulevard and Southeast Front Street (SR 36) to a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries involving a school bus.  Investigation revealed the school bus, which was transporting elementary students for the Milford School District, was westbound on State Route 36 when a vehicle eastbound operated by a 32 year old woman from Lincoln made a left turn in front of the bus causing the collision.  The collision caused the vehicle operated by the 32 year old Lincoln woman to strike a third vehicle that was at the intersection.  Thirteen students and an occupant of the third vehicle involved were transported to three area hospitals (Beebe, Bayhealth Kent Campus, and Bayhealth Sussex Campus) to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The 32 year old female from Lincoln was issued a summons for Inattentive Driving. Multiple area fire companies led by the Carlisle Fire Company assisted with this investigation.
