Hit & Run Investigation leads to Stolen Vehicle Recovery
On 02/01/2025 at approximately 6:44 p.m., Milford Police Department was dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle collision in the 900 block of SE Front St. Investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle struck several fixed objects causing damage to both the objects and the vehicle.
A short time later, a suspicious vehicle was reported in the unit block of Meadow Lark Drive in the Meadows of Shawnee Development. It was reported that the vehicle had heavy front-end damage consistent with the hit and run suspect vehicle. Officers were advised that a white female fled from the vehicle. Officers responded to the area in an attempt to locate the suspect and learned that that the vehicle was stolen out of Dover, DE.
Upon further investigation officers located the suspect, who has been identified as Staci Weldon, 35 of Dagsboro DE, who was taken into custody without incident.
Weldon was charged with:
- Receiving Stolen Property over $1500 (Felony)
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Criminal Mischief under $1000
- Several traffic violations
It was discovered that Weldon was also wanted by the Delaware State Police and had several court capias for her arrest. She had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where she was committed to the Department of Correction on $11,000.00 cash bond and $5201.00 secured bond.
