Milford Man Arrested for DUI after Pursuit
On 02/17/2024 at approximately 11:52 pm, the Milford Police Department Patrol officer was traveling eastbound on Milford Harrington Hwy in the area of Williamsville Rd when they observed a gray pickup truck traveling westbound swerve into the eastbound lane. The patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time the operator of the vehicle disregarded the officer’s emergency lights and took off at a high rate of speed westbound on Milford Harrington Hwy. A short pursuit ensued with the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle came to a stop on Milford Harrington Hwy in the area of Cams Fortune Way, Harrington, DE. When officers made contact with the operator, they observed signs of impairment and a Driving under the Influence (DUI) investigation was conducted. Through the DUI investigation, it was determined that the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The operator was identified as Kyle Comstock, 27 of Milford, DE. During a search of the vehicle, officers located four (4) unloaded firearms. Comstock was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Milford PD.
Comstock was charged with Disregarding a Police Officer Signal, Possession of a Firearm while under the influence (4 counts), Driving a Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol, and other traffic related charges. Comstock was released on unsecured bail to a sober individual with a future court date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
