On 10/21/2024, Detectives took Khaliell Pitts, 24 of Harrington, DE, into custody regarding a shooting incident that occurred back in June of 2023.  Chief Cecilia Ashe stated, "This is a perfect example of the relentless efforts our investigators put into protecting our community.  Their passion and dedication to their community should serve as a warning we never forget and we never give up."     

 

Pitts was charged with:
Assault 1^st Degree,
Possession, Purchase, Own or Control a Firearm by a Person Prohibited Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon a Firearm
Three counts of Criminal Mischief under $1000

Pitts had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $90,300 cash bond.  He was issued a no contact order with the victims in the investigation.  Pitts was ordered to appear at a later date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing.
