Milford Police Department has been able to locate next of kin and can now release the victim's name, cause of death and relationship to the previously identified defendant in Sunday's homicide investigation.  The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Rose-Lourdes Gerson Garcon of 400 block of Lakeview Ave., Milford, DE.  The Delaware Division of Forensic Science: Medical Examiner's Unit has ruled this death as homicide by stabbing.  It is standard procedure for the department not to release the cause of death in these types cases prior to the Medical Examiner's ruling.  The victim and defendant lived in the same residence in the 400 block of Lakeview Ave as roommates.  The investigation has confirmed they were not related to each other.  Due to immediate next of kin traveling back into the United States, the department elected to provide an in-person death notification therefore not releasing the relationship between the defendant and the victim until the notification had been completed.
